Auntie's Tea Shop
Auntie's Tea Shop

Aunties is a Traditional English Tea Room, with lace table cloths and waitress service. Situated in the heart of the University town of Cambridge we overlook the University Senate House and Great St Mary’s Church. The world famous Kings College Chapel is only 500 yards away and all the other Colleges within a short distance.  It is an ideal place to view the pomp and pageantry of the degree ceremonies, or to just relax and refresh after your shopping or a punt tour along the very picturesque Backs of the Colleges on the River Cam (just a short walk away).

It was established in 1979 by the current owner, Yvonne Prevett, who, having fallen in love with a tea shop in the Cotswolds noted the lack of anywhere similar where she could take her two small children for a relaxing lunch, be served good home made food with waitress service - hence the idea was born. Since then the business has evolved and is mentioned in guide books throughout the world, with regular customers who visit from as far afield as America and Japan. Our home made cakes and scones are an all time favourite.

Being close to the Arts Theatre, Aunties is frequented by many famous people.  Our visitors book having comments from Felicity Kendall, Sue Pollard, Tony Slattery, Rod Hull, Tom Conti, Griff Rhys Jones, Anthony Andrews, Patsy Palmer, Edward Fox and Maureen Lipman - to mention but a few.

Our policy is to provide good quality, freshly prepared food, in a relaxed atmosphere, served by staff who care!
